My grandmother wa...I was raised by my grandparents. My grandmother was the complete opposite of the sterotypical grandmother. Primarily, she could NOT cook. She was too impatient and so burned almost everything. I grew up eating canned spaghetti paired with Wonder Bread that had been smeared with Oleo. Her family celebrated the deliciousness that was Shake 'n Bake because it was the only time we got chicken that wasn't burned to a crisp on the outside while still bleeding on the inside. However, once in a great while she'd get a bee in her bonnet and decide to buy some fresh veggies from a produce stand, putting us kids to work helping her shuck corn or hull peas. Those were the best foods she ever prepared, and those are the memories that make me want a yard with enough space to grow my own.
